The grand scheme of things| Todd Grey Builder

Known for his high end build projects, it's no surprise when you see a Todd Grey build sign go up along the oceanfront. We take a closer look at one of the recent projects Todd and his team completed and this years entry into the House of the year Awards

Registered Master Builders House of the Year 2022 category: New Home over $4 million, Bay of Plenty & Central Plateau

With its striking contrast between black aluminium cladding, plastered panels and dark architectural window surrounds, this home makes an impression. At 750sqm and spilling over three levels, this home is expansive, with four bedrooms, three living areas, a well-equipped gym, wine cellar, theatre and five-car garage.

Equally as expansive are the sea views from the living area and outdoor entertaining zone - which has its own kitchen with a pizza oven, open fire, pool and spa, and louvres for year-round enjoyment.

The house is grandiose, yet also maintenance-free: grooved panelling adds texture to the white painted walls and oak timber floors add warmth to the mid-level, and the marble fireplace surround is an elegant touch. The pre-coloured plaster that looks like concrete doesn’t need painting.

Bedrooms and bathrooms occupy the highest level, with views out to the ocean. The flooring in the rest spaces is from the Bremworth Collection Galet carpet is a gorgeous chunky loop pile made with 100% felted New Zealand wool. The random loop pile combined with the unique yarn structure creates textural interest on the floor and unbelievable softness underfoot. Made in New Zealand.
