The couple worked with an interior consultant to develop the theme throughout the home. “With the house often full with our children, their friends and our friends we wanted something neutral, soft and relaxing”.
“The first choices we made were the roof, the joinery and the flooring. In fact the carpet was one of our earliest decisions.” Says Karen. “We wanted a light carpet and something that felt luxurious underfoot”. Karen and Allan fell in love with a luxurious carpet from the Bremworth Collection. “For me it was exciting building the colour scheme and the flooring was a big part of that. We really wanted to support local business so we chose Gerrand Floorings and we were thrilled with the service”.
Choosing a practical and functional hard flooring for this home especially with it’s location so close to the beach the couple chose an Oak timber floor. “The colour is so versatile as it is very forgiving in a busy family home where we are often entertaining”.
The Pre-finished Oak timber flooring is Ultra 21mm in colour Driftwood a beautiful beige-grey colour. Including a mixture of colour tones the flooring is warm and neutral and the boards contain knots and a brushed surface effect adds texture to the grain.
